Starting in the 2008 – 2009 academic school year SLS library has begun to collect and circulate a DVD collection. Titles are searchable within the library catalog. In addition, the library also features a limited number of listening headsets which are to be used in conjunction with viewing the DVDs in the library on the computers. The following rules will apply:
General Applicability
The use of the headphones and PCs are open to all SLS students, faculty and staff. Academic usage of the PCs takes first priority over casual viewing of a video. If someone needs to do work on a computer, you may be asked to leave. Ipod ear buds and other personal listening devices are prohibited with use of the PCs as per the student handbook. As per the student handbook, there is to be no downloading of viewing software to the computer. Students may not bring in or view questionable material or inappropriate films unless authorized in writing by parents or teachers. The library is not responsible for damage to personal DVDs or discs brought in to be viewed on the PCs.
Damage to Equipment
Misuse or mishandling of the PC or the headphones that result in repair or damage will be assessed to the borrower. Please handle the library equipment with care.
Damage or Loss of DVD
Damage or loss of a DVD will be assessed as the replacement fee plus any overdue charges that have accrued.
Collection Policy
See general collection development policy for guidelines.
